About

I discovered photography at the age of 14. My art teacher in elementary school gave me a camera to play with. Soon, I became more obsessed with video and eventually directed a student horror film. I stepped back into photography a few years later, and like many aspiring photographers of my generation, I quickly dreamed of making it my profession.

I started out shooting parties and worked for a few months in clubs, but I quickly got tired of that world; it simply wasn’t for me. Later, I collaborated with a very close friend on concert photography, music videos, and live footage. It was cool for some time, but we eventually abandoned the project. I continued to take photos for a while, but without any motivation; working for others no longer interested me. Ultimately, I sold all my gear and walked away from photography.

But I missed it so much. Years later, I bought a Fujifilm X100VI to capture family moments, friends parties, and travel memories. I fell in love with photography again.

Then, I (re)discovered film photography and fell in love. In digital photography, we tend to shoot excessively and ask questions later during post-processing behind a computer. With film, we compose, we observe, and we take our time. The rise of social media, AI, and the automation of digital tools has only reinforced my commitment to a more manual, authentic workflow.
